It’s Christmas time, and for many that means crowds, sales, gifts, and utter chaos. At some point we have lost the joy and the simplicity of Christmas. If you read Nick’s post on Why We Don’t Do Birthday Parties anymore it may not come as a surprise to you that we like to give the gift of experiences and memories instead of lots of toys. For our family, we have found those create a much more lasting impression than ALL the toys they have circled in the toy catalog.
This leads to a question most have, how do you give a gift of Disney? We will focus on Christmas for the moment but many of these ideas can be used for a birthday.
Idea 1: When you are staying on Walt Disney World property you receive MagicBands, but many guests when giving it as a gift like to order special ones for their family that represent each of them. You can order specialized ones from the Disney Store and have them delivered to your house, then your travel professional can help you link them to your MyDisneyExperience account.
Idea 2: Give Disney Travel essentials. You can wrap up things like autograph books, Disney pajamas, travel books/activities, Ears etc. The list is endless and you can really have a lot of fun with this one. You can package it into a book sack of new suitcase or just a box.
Alternate Idea 2: Use the same items as above but instead of having them in one bag give them the bag with a clue which leads them to another item with another clue, this goes on until they reach the final item with a note/ticket or something that says they are going to Disney on whatever date.
Idea 3: The classic balloons. Package them in a box to pop out when they open them, each balloon can have a note tied to it saying “We’re” “Going” “to” “Disney” or something to that effect.
Idea 4: Special Invitation for a princess to visit Disney and Dine in Cinderella’s Castle. This is a super fun one for young princesses.
Idea 5: Chocolate bar in the stocking with special wrappers and a golden ticket on the inside with a trip to Disney.
And we can’t forget the most important tip, we always recommend using a travel professional that can customize your vacation for your family. Contact one of our friends at 101 Dream Vacations to help make your Christmas one to remember.
