MagicMobile: Disney’s new service
Disney, known far and wide for innovation – now introduces its newest invention, making a magical visitor connection, the MagicMobile service.
Visitors to Disney are familiar with the stylish, comfortable, convenient, and waterproof wristband known as a MagicBand. Disney introduced the wristband to streamline access for everything from fast passes to entrance in the park. With just the wave of your wrist, like magic, a Fastpass would activate a green light opening the door to rides, events, and beyond. The customizable MagicBands have even become one of the best kept souvenirs for park goers.
Now, thanks to Disney’s ever evolving technology, the magic of park passes and payment has evolved. There is a new system that will transform your personal cell phone into a magical device of its own. Parks are soon to introduce MagicMobile service. Fear not MagicBand lovers – you can still keep your collection going, this is an alternative option, or it can be used simultaneously with MagicBands. (And just a little hint…NEW MagicBand colors & designs are coming soon!)
Disney has developed this new MagicMobile service to work with and/or in place of MagicBands, so you and your fellow park goers can choose what option you are most comfortable with. Your phone will perform much of the same duties that the MagicBand does, through the use of the My Disney Experience app. Even before social distancing precautions, the Disney Experience app offered contactless check in and reservation information. MagicMobile will now just enhance that experience for you.
With MagicMobile, park guests will wave their phone or device near access points and it will connect your park plans and information. In addition, if you already use your phone as a digital wallet, you will be able to link this service as well!
MagicMobile will launch first on Apple products, to include phones and smart watches. For those who may have had concerns about losing MagicBands or fearing the information had trouble linking to bands, this MagicMobile could help alleviate that stress. You will be able to see and make changes through the app, The addition of MagicMobile is another innovation to help your Disney experience become even more seamless. Your personalized, technology enhanced, Disney experience at your fingertips…that sounds like an invention to help make “a great big beautiful tomorrow!”
