Summer Adventure
In early June, we left Pennsylvania to begin our next military move down to Florida. We made several stops along the way to visit family and friends. Again, we had our camper in tow, so it made our move pretty easy and comfortable! We stayed at wonderful campgrounds in Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia and then we paused for 10 days to camp at The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort! It was our first time staying at the campground and I will say it definitely won’t be our last! WOW! We had an AMAZING stay here! I love having our camper or our accommodations! What made it even more special is that we had friends fly down and join us for a week! Doing Disney with friends is so much fun! We rented a golf cart during our stay to make it a little easier to zip around the Fort too! Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campground is so close to Magic Kingdom that you are just a quick and relaxing boat ride away! The food out at The Fort is fantastic! The pool area is super fun! The atmosphere is laid back and your fellow campers are all happy and excited to be there as well! If you do not have a camper/RV to stay at a campsite here but want to experience Disney’s Fort Wilderness, you can stay in one of their many cabins! The cabins have all the comforts of home as well and can sleep up to 6 guests! You even get a FULL kitchen! Even though it was fairly warm during the days and pretty much every day it rained at some point, go into your trip with manageable expectations! Have a plan! Take a break during the day if you need! Bring items to help provide relief from the heat such as handheld fans, neck fans, cooling neck towels, hats and sunscreen, etc. Duck into air conditioned shops and attractions for a break! Don’t forget to pack an umbrella..!!! It’ll provide you shelter from the rain and the sun! The weather didn’t dampen our spirits one bit since we were prepared!
Our journey down south to our new home continued at the end of June were we camped in Key Largo and then finally made it to our destination in Key West! Yes, I am now living in Key West, Florida for the next few years! It has been so much fun exploring the island, getting acquainted with all that’s here and meeting the locals!
Happy Summer!!
