Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort
Riverside is divided into Magnolia Bend and Alligator Bayou. Magnolia Bend features white column mansions, designed to resemble southern plantations, surrounded by perfectly manicured lawns and beautiful gardens. These rooms feature a very relaxing atmosphere with oak beds and a quiet feel. In Alligator Bayou the theming is more along the wilderness line. The Bayou side sleeps up to 5 guests. The interior of the rooms are very rustic with wooden bed frames You can choose from several different room types in both sections of Riverside; standard room, preferred room pool view, garden view, and the newly added royal rooms.
As far as activities around Riverside, you will not find yourself bored. The main lobby offers an excellent restaurant called Boatwright’s. There is also a variety of food at the Riverside Mill Food Court. At River Roost Lounge, you can enjoy cocktails and an unforgettable performance by the bartenders. They are so much fun to watch. There are 5 pools to choose from throughout the property. That is not all though, Riverside features several playgrounds, horse drawn carriage rides, pirate adventure cruises, campfire activities, bike rentals, fishing, arcade and a relaxing boat ride to the Downtown Disney area.
Overall, Port Orleans Riverside is a perfect resort to choose and will not break the bank. The theming definitely feels more like a deluxe resort than a moderate with so much stuff to do. It is a favorite for many families and will always be my “home” resort.
