New Offer from Disney Vacation Club for RunDisney Enthusiasts
One of the most difficult plans to make after registering for a RunDisney race weekend is room accommodations. Since the availability at each resort respectively varies by day and when Disney gives vacationers the ability to book more than 365 days in advance, patience is most definitely a virtue. Disney Vacation Club has been enchanting Disney-loving adventurers, like myself, with their invitation to purchase a magical timeshare that would take you on magical vacations for years to come since 1991, and now they’ve set their sights on those participating in RunDisney events. With each new race weekend, Annual Passholders and DVC members are given the ability to access early registration the week prior to the general public, thus giving them a greater chance to secure a spot. Now, DVC seeks to lure RunDisney enthusiasts even more by creating a special membership entitled ‘Guaranteed Event Week.’
The Guaranteed Event Week membership entitles the purchaser to room accommodations at Copper Creek Villas at Wilderness lodge for the week of said race weekend, which means that yes, to get this membership you must buy into the Copper Creek Villas. While this might be limiting, Copper Creek Villas are Walt Disney World’s newest Disney Vacation Club property that offers a tranquil setting right off the beaten path of the fast-paced Monorail Resorts. My husband and I recently stayed at Wildness Lodge, which may be my new favorite resort, and we could see the Copper Creek Villas from our room. If you are looking for something away from the noise but in the middle of the Disney magic, this is the place for you. Along with your guaranteed room accommodations, your membership also allows for up to five race registrations per year to secure a bib number for a respective race weekend! No more being ready at noon to register? Whew! Sign me up!
One of the only downsides of the Guaranteed Event Week membership is that the purchaser is only allowed to choose one of four race weekends – Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon Weekend, and Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend. This ensures that not all RunDisney enthusiasts who buy into this timeshare will be guaranteed (or overcrowd) the same week each year, but also guarantees that the purchaser will have room accommodations for that same race week that they’ve chosen each year. As we grow, our interests change and therefore our time and money investments must have the ability to change as well. I plan on participating in RunDisney events as long as my legs can take me, but the reality is that some people might not want to. Like any Disney Vacation Club membership, the purchaser can trade in their Guaranteed Event Weeks so that they have more vacation flexibility throughout the year. This is a great ‘just-in-case’ option for those who might look at this new offer as a bit confining.
This offer is a great option for those who have been considering buying into the Disney Vacation Club and plan on participating in a RunDisney race weekend for years to come or just want to make a change. The Disney Vacation Club isn’t just for those who love Disney, but it’s for people who believe that there’s magic in everything. RunDisney can be an inspiration to change or it can be an empowerment of strength. Combine the pixie dust of both entities and you have something that will truly make your heart soar.
