A First-time-trip-to-Disney Planner's Guide to Not Screwing It Up
A first-time-trip-to-Disney Planner's Guide to Not Screwing It Up. Hi, there. My name is Cyd, and I'll be guest blogging for 101 Dream Vacations today (Oh, good! You're excited, I can tell). I'm going to tell you all about our recent trip to Disney World - what we did right, what we did wrong, and why using a travel agent is the best idea I've had since that one time I decided to try beignets with Nutella (Seriously. Try it. Right now - I'll wait). So, let me start out
Walt Disney World FastPass+ Guide

The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
My family and I had the pleasure of staying at The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The Grand Floridian is an elegant and magical Disney resort. It is located on Disney property on the Seven Seas Lagoon and is a monorail resort. The first stop on the monorail is The Magic Kingdom! The Grand was inspired by Victorian-era beach resorts at the turn of the century. As you step into the five story lobby you immediately see the elegance and sophistication that this resort is known for; from the
Barber Shop At Disney? Who Knew!
Did you know that Magic Kingdom has a barber shop? Who would have thought? It's called Harmony Barber Shop and you can find it upon entering Magic Kingdom. I took my 2 year old little girl, Abby Grace, to have her first haircut on our recent trip. We had an amazing experience. I was very nervous to see how she would act because she is a very hesitant child. She is very attached to certain people and does not care for strangers. Well turns out that she loved it.
Disney's DiveQuest
One of the many hidden treasures (and there are many) of Walt Disney World is Disney’s DiveQuest. Here you will take part of one of the most unique experiences Disney has to offer. DiveQuest is a full interactive adventure offered in Epcot’s The Seas with Nemo & Friends. Yes that is right, you will be scuba diving in Disney’s massive 5.7 million gallon aquarium that houses the Finding Nemo attraction as well as the Coral Reef restaurant. Just how big is an aquarium that size you may ask?
Be Our Guest… For Lunch.
Have you missed out on having lunch at Be Our Guest Restaurant in the new Fantasyland at Disney’s Magic Kingdom park? On my families last visit there we checked in around 11 to have lunch to find out that they were already booked for the day. Some guest had FastPasses and others waited in the standby line. We chose not to waste time by waiting around for a chance to eat there since we already had experienced Be Our Guest in the past. However Beginning Feb. 25, 2015, you
Switch Pass… What's That?
The 'Rider Switch Pass', rider swap, baby swap, child Swap, whatever you call it you have probably heard the name(s), but do you understand the system? If not, don't worry you are not alone. So you are on a family trip to Walt Disney World and everything is going great. You are all riding the tea cups, Jungle Cruise, and dumbo with no problems, but then you get to Big Thunder Mountain and Sally is a little too short to ride. That's where you do the drill where one parent has
Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort
Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort is such a beautiful place to stay on Disney grounds. Its luscious grounds along with a southern charm make it one of my favorite resorts at Walt Disney World. You can actually turn your vacation into pure relaxation if you stroll the pathways around Riverside. To me, this is one of the most romantic resorts to stay as a couple but also a family favorite with so much to do. Riverside is divided into Magnolia Bend and Alligator Bayou. Magnolia Bend features white column mansions, designed to
Disney, It's Not Just For Kids Anymore
As parents of three we feel it important to protect and preserve our collective sanity. Now I must admit that this is an area where we often drop the ball. But when the soundtrack of your life often sounds like the intro in Mickey Mouse Club House you have to expect it. This is why a couple of years ago Tiffany and I decided that every other year we would take a trip just the two of us and enjoy an adult vacation. We look forward to this
Waiting to go to Disney? Don't!!!
I often find myself in conversations about our Disney vacations with friends, family, co-workers, and even sometimes complete strangers. I’m not sure what it is about me that says “let me ask this guy about a Disney vacation”. Perhaps I just seem like a real approachable guy. (Or maybe it’s my Disney Golf shirts???) But regardless the reason of the conversation one thing I often here about someone thinking of taking their first Disney family vacation is that they are probably going to wait until their child/children get
