Aloha! My name is Eve. I currently live on the beautiful island of O’ahu here in Hawaii with my amazing husband and two brilliant children, our daughter is a student at UAF (Go Nanooks!), and our son is in middle school. We have been living our ‘Happily Ever After’ life for over 20 years. My husband is an active-duty Marine, with retirement right around the corner. Being a Military family has taught us many things. Being able to cherish every moment and live out loud the life that we are lucky enough to have together is by far the most important for us.

One of my most favorite memories, while on a family vacation, was the first trip to Walt Disney World in 2017. It was the first time that my husband and kids went to Walt Disney World. I had not been since the late 80’s and lots had changed. We were hesitant because of some of the challenges that we have had to figure out for our son. He has a few ‘quirks’ that can be difficult to navigate at times, but it is getting easier the older he gets. A few of these are Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), Autism (ASD), severe (environmental, food, and pet) allergies, and severe anxiety. Going to a grocery store that gets crowded can be very overwhelming for him, how were we going to handle Walt Disney World?! I learned tons about Disabilities and Disney in advance, but learning firsthand was our why we continue to go back, again and again.

The way our son was received was with such dignity, respect, and love instead of an issue is by far one of the most magical and best feelings a parent can have when just about every outing has some level of struggles. Looking back at our pictures from that trip, I tear up. It was such a magical vacation for us. That is why one of our favorite things is Disney. Whether we are at a Disney Resort, planning to go to Disney, chatting about all the types of Disney vacations, sharing our many adventures with others, seeing and talking about all things Disney related, Disney is on our minds.
